About Lancing and Sompting Churches’ Food Bank
With the help of volunteers from the churches Lancing and Sompting Food Bank has been set up to create and make available food bags which contain enough food to feed a family of four for three days. Bags are given to those referred by our partners in the community.
All the churches in Lancing and Sompting are able to refer people to the Foodbank as are our partners including the CAB, Social Services, some Housing Associations, Health Centres and Health Visitors and occasionally CAP (Christians Against Poverty)

How the Food Bank works
The project is funded by local people, organisations, businesses, and churches.
Donations of food and certain other essential supplies can be left at any of the Drop-off points (details here). Volunteers sort and pack the food into food bags. Each food bag contains enough food for 3 days for a family of up to four.
We work in partnership with agencies like CAB and the Family Centre. also we receive referrals from Social Services, Health Visitors and doctors, who identify people in crisis and refer them to the Food Bank.
Those in need of help are referred to one of our distribution points to receive a bag.
